The story so far:
The Black Lanterns have come to claim Boston Brand's body, Boston Brand's spirit Deadman has a big problem with this. After losing the battle for his body in the cemetry, he seeks out Batman for help but it's not the Batman he was after.
Black Lantern King Snake, Blockbuster, Ventriloquist and the Trigger Twins (easily win the award for most lamest Bat villains ever) assault Gotha PD HQ hoping to lure in Batman and get there vengence upon him. After Batman checks the JLA database they soon realise they are gonna need some heavy fire power if they are gonna get Jim Gordon and his guys out there alive so drop by their local National Gaurd warehouse and pick up some flame throwers. Meanwhile Deadman goes on ahead of them to help get as many cops out of there as possible, coming to the rescue in the nick of time to posess Barbara Gordin's body and get her and Jim to safety.
Peter J Tomasi keeps the passing tight, with lots of tension and surprises. Red Robin's recuse of the team on the rooftop with the Batwing was cool and a nice use of the jet engines to destroy the undead. The banter between Batman and Robin was nice and keeping inline with what's being done in Grant Morrsion's book. It was also great to see Barbara kick some ass even if it waswnt really her.
As it's a mini series we need a cliff hanger to get us keen for next months installment. So what's better then the Black Lantern Flying Graysons and the Drakes to show up on the last page.
